The interview was arranged last Sunday through OIOA. The part of HB49 in determining inspection fees for inflatable amusements to be not more than $105 was successfully complied with and set at $104, however the requirement for an independent fee study was removed. Parts of the interview were not played acknowledging that Ohio inspectors have a tough job and approach their tasks diligently. OIOA believes Ohio ride safety inspectors do a great job, however a time study and fee assessment remain issues that should be reviewed for both inflatable adventure amusements and traditional carnival rides. Everyone wants safety as a primary concern and OIOA will continue to work on risk management and education.
